At the Englehart and District Family Health Team, we offer a variety of programs and services to help meet the needs of our patients. If you require more information on any of the following programs, please call or drop by.

Well Women's Clinic

The clinic specializes in the provision of performing breast exams, teaching breast self-examination, and performing pap tests. It is available to women of all ages in the District of Timiskaming. This clinic is run by a Registered Nurse.

Ontario Telemedicine Network

The Ontario Telemedicine Network helps deliver clinical care and professional education among health care providers and patients. This technology is transforming the way patients receive needed health care by extending and enhancing access to healthcare providers and eliminating barriers to care. There is a suite within the Englehart and District Family Health Team building where patients can attend consultations with specialists via video conferencing equipment.

The following group programs are also currently being offered:

Mindfulness Meditation for Individuals

This 6 week group program is intended to provide people with an alternative way to cope with chronic pain. Each group session has an educational component as well as a skill teaching component.

This program is offered in partnership with Canadian Mental Health Association Cochrane Temiskaming Branch and the Timiskaming Health Unit.

Anger Solutions

Anger Solutions is a 10 week group program that is based on proven strategies that enable participants to effectively resolve anger and take control of their emotions. The program has a high success rate for all committed participants who complete the entire program.

Typical outcomes that can be expected as a result of successful completion of the program include but are not limited to: a higher quality of life; significant increase in self-esteem; decrease in physical ailments and physiological effects of stress; ability to incorporate more appropriate methods of expressing anger; improved communication skills; higher assertiveness levels; and a marked decrease in participant contact with the law.

This program is offered in partnership with the Haileybury Family Health Team.
